About this site…

This site is a coming together of the music I loved so greatly in my youth and a rediscovery of the metal scene as it is today. Like so many others I did, admittedly, pay little attention to the metal/rock scene for 10 years or so when Grunge faded out going to very few concerts thereafter… .

…when I returned to metal, again admittedly, it was based around what I once enjoyed with no real effort to explore how much things had moved on… .

…on Oct 9th 2016, I really should have left this world behind but somehow managed to survive – a near fatal- an accident whilst cycling, the exemplification of this can be found in the very first post of the blog, entitled ‘And we’re off…’.

…when I regained consciousness, I had full blown amnesia. I did not know my name, where I was and nor could I recognise family members, however, my love for metal was undying and once discharged from hospital the history and playlists saved on Youtube at home became invaluable. They became identity-conferring because when I listened to a particular song it would trigger the memories I had connected to it. Because of that I was able to rebuild the past; where I was, what I was doing, how I was, who I was with, the job I had -or didn’t have- and so on. As the weeks passed, I regained identity through having acquired some knowledge of my past self. I recovered within months and relocated to Bangkok. There, I found the underground metal scene and this, coupled with the nature of my recovery, rejuvenated my interest in metal like never before. From that I began to explore the current scene, only to find it remarkably surprising. That is why this blog has been created…

…I will endeavour to reply to all comments and questions provided they are respectful…
